Signup page

A signup page is a landing page whose only job is to get someone onto your email list.

Definition

A signup page is a landing page whose only job is to get someone onto your email list. It explains what they will receive, how often, and why it is worth their inbox, then asks for an email address.

It is the home for a newsletter or a lead magnet. Good signup pages show a sample issue or a preview of the resource, name who it is for, and keep the form short. A signup page is not a contact form and not a demo request. The ask is small: let us email you. That is why the page should feel light, not like a sales conversation.

A B2B example: a legal operations consultancy's signup page says 'A short email every other Tuesday on contract workflows, written for in-house legal teams', shows the last three subject lines, and asks only for an email address.

Why it matters for B2B email

Many B2B companies have a newsletter but nowhere to send people who want it, so growth stalls. A dedicated signup page gives every LinkedIn post, podcast mention and email signature one place to point. It also sets expectations up front, which means the people who join are more likely to keep opening.
